- 1 Make a loop, attach it to the hook and chain five. Attach the end of the chain to the beginning with a slip stitch.
- 2 Chain three. Make 15 double crochet stitches inside the ring that you created in step 1. Use a slip stitch to join the end of this row to the top of the chain three, and turn.
- 3 Chain three, then make two double crochet stitches in each stitch in the row. Connect the beginning and end of this row with a slip stitch. Chain three, and then turn. Make another row exactly like this one, ending with a chain three, and turn. You now have three rows of the flower made.
- 4 Chain one, then single crochet in each stitch in this row. Fasten off, and cut the yarn. Weave the loose end into the stitching so that it doesn't show.
- 5 Use a yarn needle threaded with the same yarn as the flower to sew closed any openings that may be at the bottom of the flower. Tie the yarn ends into a square knot, and leave about 4 inches hanging on each end for tying onto a hat.
